Financial promotions policy
Ecomerate is a research tool. It gives you information about markets and companies, never personal investment advice or recommendations.

01What this policy covers
This policy sets out how Ecomerate talks about markets and investments: on this website, in emails, in alerts and in every answer the AI analyst sends you in iMessage. It explains where the line sits between research, which we provide, and financial advice, which we do not.
02What Ecomerate does
Ecomerate is a research tool. It reads company filings, earnings, prices and news, explains what changed, and watches the stocks and portfolio you tell it about. Everything it gives you is information to help you do your own thinking.
That information can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and it can change after we send it. You remain responsible for checking it and for any decision you make.
03What Ecomerate will never do
Ecomerate does not, and is not set up to:
- Give personal recommendations or investment advice.
- Tell you to buy, sell, hold, short, hedge, rebalance, add to, reduce or close a position.
- Manage a portfolio, place orders or arrange deals on your behalf.
- Assess whether an investment is suitable for you.
04How we write about markets
Everything we publish should be fair, clear and not misleading. That applies to web pages, emails, notifications, charts, AI answers and marketing alike.
We only make claims we can support, and we put the risks, assumptions, dates, method and uncertainty next to them rather than leaving them out. We do not promise returns.
05How the AI analyst answers
The AI analyst is built to inform, not to instruct. It describes the data, sets out the competing readings of it, and says what it assumed and what it could not find.
It does not ask about or assess your personal circumstances, decide what suits you, build you a target allocation, write you an action plan or tell you to change a position. If you ask whether you should buy something, it explains the evidence on both sides and leaves the decision with you.
06Your portfolio
Ecomerate can show what you hold, how it is spread, what it is worth, how it has performed and how risky it has been. These views describe your portfolio as it is. They never tell you how to change it or suggest that a particular move is right for you.
07Ratings, labels and other people's views
Analyst ratings, estimates, sentiment, technical signals and valuation labels come from third parties or from models. We show where each one came from and when. A word like “undervalued” or “bullish” is that source's view, not a recommendation from Ecomerate.
08If you are in the UK
Ecomerate is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as an adviser, broker or portfolio manager, and does not present itself as one. Any new feature that could amount to a financial promotion or a personal recommendation is reviewed for compliance before it is released.
09If you are in the US
Ecomerate is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or research analyst, is not your fiduciary, and does not claim to be any of these. Any claim about performance comes with its evidence, its context and its risks, and we keep the evidence behind our public claims.
10No suitability checks
We do not collect your objectives, finances or appetite for risk in order to recommend anything. If we ever offer a service that would need that information, it will go through its own legal and regulatory assessment before it launches.
11How we keep to this
Behind the scenes, we:
- Version the instructions the AI analyst follows, and test it against the kinds of answer it must never give.
- Log answers that were stopped for crossing the line, without keeping personal data we do not need.
- Read and act on reports from users.
- Record where each piece of market data came from and when.
- Keep approval records for public financial promotions.
12Questions and updates
If something Ecomerate sent you read like advice, or you have a question about this policy, email [email protected]. We review this policy whenever the product, our data providers, the markets we serve or the rules change.
This policy explains how we run Ecomerate. It is not legal advice and does not change our Terms of Service. For what Ecomerate is and is not, and where its data comes from, see the disclaimer.
